Jennifer Lopez has announced the cancellation of the US leg of her “This Is Me… Live” tour, leaving fans across the country deeply disappointed. The singer, who was set to embark on her first tour in five years, expressed her sorrow and heartbreak over the decision.

Live Nation, the ticketing company for the tour, revealed on Friday that the 2024 summer tour has been called off. The company cited Lopez’s need to take time off to be with her children, family, and close friends as the primary reason for the cancellation. In her On the JLo newsletter, Lopez conveyed her feelings to her fans: “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down.”

Live Nation assured fans that they will receive automatic refunds for their tickets. The tour was highly anticipated, following the release of Lopez’s ninth studio album, “This Is Me… Now,” which came 20 years after her hit album, “This Is Me… Then.” This new album marked her first release in five years and was expected to be a significant event in her career.

The tour was scheduled to kick off in Orlando on June 26 and run through North America, concluding in Houston at the end of August. Lopez emphasized to her fans that the decision was not taken lightly: “I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time.”

Adding to the public’s curiosity, the cancellation comes amidst ongoing speculation about the state of Lopez’s marriage to actor Ben Affleck. Rumors have circulated regarding both their relationship and potential issues with ticket sales for the tour. Despite these rumors, Lopez and Affleck were seen together recently at Affleck’s daughter Violet’s graduation ceremony, displaying unity.

During a press junket for her new sci-fi movie, “Atlas,” Lopez was asked about the speculated problems in her marriage. She responded firmly to a question about a possible divorce from Affleck, stating, “You know better than that.” This response was aimed at quelling the rumors that have been circulating about their relationship.

The couple has been married since July 2022 and continues to attract significant media attention. Despite the tour’s cancellation and the personal challenges Lopez might be facing, her commitment to her fans remains strong. She has promised to make up for the disappointment and to reunite with her fans in the future.

Since then, it’s been reported that the couple is allegedly living separately, despite both being in LA. It was also alleged that they spent Mother’s Day apart. 

According to one source, “one of the issues” in their relationship is that Ben allegedly feels Jen is never “satisfied.”

“Ben feels like Jen has a hard time feeling satisfied, and that’s one of the issues they’re facing,” the insider told Entertainment Tonight. “Ben is one of the only people who feels comfortable enough to be honest and real with Jen. It’s part of why Jen loves him, but also why she’s upset with him.”
