Britney Spears to Appear on Tiny Dancer Cover with Elton John

Britney Spears recently said that she has “quit music.” So what changed her mind?

Britney Spears has had quite the year. 2022 began with freedom, as the singer was released from the oppressive conservatorship, which denied Britney the right to any sense of freedom and autonomy. Now, Britney is poised to return to the music industry with a collaboration with the legend himself, Sir Elton John.

The song in question is Tiny Dancer, which is an original Elton Johan song from the album Mad Man Across the Water – released back in 1972. Tiny Dancer is supposedly one of Brintey’s favourite Elton songs, so it seems like the perfect passion project for an artist who has been hesitant to return to the public eye. “This was Elton’s idea, and Britney is a huge fan. They have recorded a remix of ‘Tiny Dancer’ as a full duet — and it is incredible,” says an industry insider, to Page Six news. The track will be released by the record label giant, Universal Music after it was played to executives at a private listening party. “They’ve already played it for people at their record label, and everybody is freaking out. It is so good,” says the source. “They are saying this is going to be the song of the summer.”

The news came as a huge surprise to fans, who didn’t expect that Britney would return to music this soon, if at all! For 14 years, Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, kept her daughter on a tight leash, following a very public mental breakdown. Since then, Britney had every aspect of her life controlled. Professionals and doctors decided whether or not she could go on holiday, controlled her eating habits and diet, prevented friends from visiting, and they even stopped Britney from having more children. The conservatorship was used to exploit Britney in order to steal her profits. Thankfully, fans, the #FreeBritney movement, and Britney’s own determination meant that the conservatorship eventually got overturned. And now, Britney is beginning to pick up the pieces.

“Britney is officially back. She’s back to work, and she’s super excited,” says the inside sources. The Tiny Dancer remix will be the first time that Brintey and Elton will have worked together. But considering the two are close friends, a duet is well overdue. However, it’s no secret that Britney is in a fragile state. Her Instagram posts are erratic and repetitive, and there appears to be a lot of anger still present. But, if anyone can nurse Britney back to her passion and music, it’s Elton John.

The track is set for an August 2022 release, in time to catch the tail end of the summer. The remix is expected to have a country funk sound, which makes sense considering Elton’s latest smash hit, Cold Heart, that blended previous hits Rocketman and Sacrifice with vocals from none other than Dua Lipa. Tiny Dancer is a hit waiting to happen.
